Joy – Fruit of the Spirit; Joy in the Lord

Message in the picture

“Joy – Though you have not seen him, you love him; and though you do not see him now, yet you believe in him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy:” 1 Peter 1:8 (RKJNT)

Scripture for the day

1 Thessalonians 1:5-6 (RKJNT) For our gospel came to you not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and with full conviction. You know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6 And you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word despite much affliction, with joy from the Holy Spirit:

Thought for the day

Spiritual joy is a lasting joy, a joy based on Spiritual things and is not tied to what is happening in your earthly life. This joy is heaven-focused and made possible by Jesus dying on the cross and defeating death. Jesus made it clear that He died for us—His friends. John 15:13-14 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB) “No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do what I command you.”

Let no one or no thing take your joy, Jesus gave it to you, cherish it knowing that one day we will dwell with Him. Jude 1:24-25 (RKJNT) “Now to him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless in the presence of his glory with exceedingly great joy, to the only God our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory and majesty, dominion and authority, before all time, and now, and forevermore. Amen.” Maintain your joy in the Lord, until next time—be blessed—Tim.
